Lay Speaking Ministries... Is God calling you to speak his word?
The Lay Speaking Ministry is the program of the UMC to develop your speaking skills and the formulation of putting God's words into a sermon within Methodist guidelines.
Lay speakers may be called to preach in their church, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, camp grounds, fair grounds and other locations requiring religious programming.
Lay Speaking Ministers serve their local churches, their districts, and the conference by filling council and committee positions, working in the church kitchens, helping trustees, leading Sunday school sessions, and attending to all the other various requirements and obligations of church activity and leadership.
