Good morning (soon to be afternoon), WELL have been trying to send you all the info since about 9 Am , so we see how that has been going. Hopefully will be able to remember all activities and get them listed. Let's start off with some thank youssssss - TO Sara, Joyce and everyone else who helped with the National Day of Prayer on May 5th To all those whop helped with the Bluegrass Musician Appreciation Dinner on May 6th To Ed Johnson our main cook and all the wonderful men who helped prepare and serve the Mother's Day Lunch. There was something for everyone including chocolate dipped strawberries. Wed May 11th - 5:30 PM Herd and Flock 6 Pm - Choir Practice 6:30 PM Praise Team Thurs May 12th - 6:45 PM - Scout Roundtable Meeting Fri May 13th - Bluegrass 7 PM THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO HELPED LAST WEEK WITH THE MUSICIAN APPRECIATION DINNER - THE SWISS STEAK WAS A BIG HIT (and if you missed the dinner you really missed a great meal) Sat May 14th - Men's Breakfast and Bible Study - Breakfasts served 8 AM Indians Faith Day HAS BEEN CANCELLED 5 PM - Jamfest 3:16 - Tonight youth are raising funds to help a family who lost a son in a shooting. Donations for the "causes" at Jamfest are always welcome and appreciated. Menu is hot dogs and other goodies. Sun May 15th - Worship and Sunday School as usual SPR will meet after 11 Am worship VBS - any interested volunteers - there will be a meeting after the 11 AM worship today. Pam Oberholtzer is coordinating. IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND THE MEETING BUT WANT to help, let Pam know. Mon May 16th - 7 PM Disciple I class DISCIPLE II is not meeting tonight Tues May 17th - 11 AM Bible Study with Pastor John 6:30 PM - Scouts wed May 18th - 5:30 PM HERD AND FLOCK - Last night for MYF - then will go into summer routine Pam will keep all posted about activities - Don't forget MYF handles the 6 summer Bluegrass nights. 6 PM - Choir Practice 6:30 PM - Praise Team Thurs May 19th - 6:30 PM Community Fest Meeting - If you are involved, please plan on attending, will be doing coordination and updating for Community Fest on June 25th Fri Mat 20th - Bluegrass 7 PM - LAST REGULAR Night of Bluegrass Other information we gotta list: May 22nd Cloverleaf High School Baccalaureate 2 PM here at the church May 28th - Pancake (and sausage) Breakfast 8AM - Noon here at the church Suggestion donations: Adults - $5.00; Children 3-11 $2.50 and children under 2 FREE Funds will be used toward offsetting expenses for Community Fest May 29th - 25th Liberty Concert at Lodi UMC - at 7 PM Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:30 PM at Lodi UMC (and refreshments are served after rehearsals)Veterans will be honored and you still have time to submit photos. Anyone is welcome to come and participate in the rehearsals). A flier with all information is posted on the community bulletin board. May 30th - Lafayette Township Memorial Day Parade begins at 2 PM - after the parade there is a program at gazebo in the center of town AND there will be pie and ice cream available after the program concludes. The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from our Lafayette church march in both the Chatham Parade and Lafayette Parade. That should be enough activity information to send you into overlead for a while. Now if that wasn't enough we have. . . Community Fest June 25th from Noon to 6 PM Auction begins at 1 PM (and only goes one hour) - Auction donations are still being accepted Missions is having our usual Rummage Sale (which is really a giveaway). This year we will be inside in the Lance Room - Donations re being accepted now. If you have questions, you can contact Ann (330-635-3698) or Lynette (330-769-7525). OK - Done? Let's hope so. Good evening all, Here's what up for events: TOMORROW May 5th - National Day of Prayer Service Noon in the Lance Room, lite luncheon served afterwards all are invited to attend - service will be about an hour or so (if you are on time constraints and want to try to attend) Friday - Bluegrass Appreciation Dinner - Swiss Steak 'n Fixins - served 5:30 - 8 PM Suggested donation $7.00/dinner. Currently could use some help from 7-9 PM. Cub Scouts and Scouts participate in the parade (starting at 2 PM) and the church float may be making an appearance also. The parade concludes at the gazebo with a ceremony honoring the war veterans. All are welcome to attend. We also entice you with a pie/ice cream festivity after the ceremonies are completed. June 11th - Matthew 25 Coalition 5K Run and Fund Walk - Held in Seville starting the the Seville United Methodist church race starts at 8:30AM. This is a fund raising event for Matthew 25 to "help the least of these brethren" with rent, utilities, auto fuel, prescription and employment/education expenses. Matthew 25 is a group of 20 area churches serving mainly southern medina county. Brochures about the coalition are available on request throughthe office. You can also register for the race online http://www.active.com/running/seville-oh/matthew-25-5k-race-2011 June 25th - Community Fest - begins at Noon enda at 6 PM. Lots of stuff - see fliers in the church. There are bands, food, games for kids, and there will be the church auction at 1PM (only lasting an hour). Missions is having our usual Rummage Sale (which is really a giveaway) and donations will be accepted after May 15th. Good morning, now evening, all, Tried to send this information yesterday, but I did not get a confirming copy and had trouble with original transmission. Made some chanes and going back to the old format so we should be back on track next week. (Yes, Mary I tried to correct all the spelling errors, but my computer is old and the operator even older. The attachment is the January/February 2011 newsletter (and yes I know some of you cannot open it). The calendar will be a separate e-mail because we (actually me)were having errors with data input. There are "hard copies available at the church in the rolling blue cart; if you need a copy sent to you, please e-mail or call DON'T TELL ME BECAUSE I WILL FORGET. Now on to the news: 1/7/11 - Friday - Bluegrass is back on music starts at 7 PM 1/8/11 - Sat 8 AM Men's Breakfast - Plan to come for food and great fellowship. Welcome and Thank you Dave Oberholtzer for taking this position. 7 PM Saturday is Jamfest 3:16. Reports are January Jamfest had over 150 youth in attendance. Refreshments available by donation. 1/9/11 Sunday schedule back in place 9 AM - Temple Worshop 10 AM - Sunday School teens & adults- LADIES MEETING 11 AM - Contemporary Worship - Sunday school ages 4- 5th grade Noonish - Taking Down the Greens 12:30 PM - Youth Worship 1/10/11 - MOnday 6 PM Board of Ministry - we welcome Jim Wilson as the new Lay Leader. Good afternoon all, Office is closed this week. Will be in periodically to check messages. Worship times as normal next Sunday January 2, 2011. Cub Scout Pack Meeting at 3 PM Sunday Jan 2nd. Finance meeting, all scouts and choir wer cancelled this week. Deadline for newletter information is today? (Jim picked today, if not good let me know). Congratulations to Jessi Pascal and Jeremy Davis - their weeding is December 30th. We extend our sympathies to the family of John Corpus (Megan McKee's grandfather).
